Description
Sikament RB 850 is a highly effective dual-action liquid superplasticiser that combines high-range water reduction with prolonged slump retention. It improves concrete workability, placing and cohesion while supporting higher final strength and is particularly suited to hot and tropical climatic conditions.
Applications
- Slabs
- Foundations
- Walls
- Columns
- Piers
- Piles
- Slender concrete components
- Heavily reinforced concrete
- Free-flowing concrete
- Concrete requiring prolonged workability and slump retention
Benefits
- High-range water reduction
- Prolonged slump retention
- Significantly improved workability
- Easier concrete placement
- Reduced vibration requirements
- Improved concrete cohesion
- Reduced risk of segregation
- Increased time available for placement
- Improved final strength
- Suitable for hot and tropical climatic conditions
Application guidance
Sikament RB 850 is supplied ready to use and should be added to the concrete as a separate component. For optimum performance, add the admixture immediately after approximately 80% of the mixing water has been introduced and the solid materials are wetted. Do not add Sikament RB 850 directly to dry aggregates. The optimum dosage depends on the concrete mix design, raw materials, climatic conditions and required concrete performance. Trial mixes should be carried out to establish the appropriate dosage before full-scale production. Normal good concreting practices for production, placing and curing must be followed. Fresh concrete should be properly cured, particularly under high-temperature conditions.
Coverage
Recommended dosage: 0.8–2.0% by weight of binder. The optimum dosage should be established through trial mixes based on the concrete mix design, materials, climatic conditions and required performance.
