Description
Sika MonoTop-412 S is a one-component, fibre-reinforced, low-shrinkage repair mortar meeting the requirements of Class R4 of EN 1504-3. It is designed for structural concrete repair, restoration of damaged or spalled concrete, structural strengthening and restoration of concrete cover.
Applications
- Repair of spalled and damaged concrete
- Structural concrete repair in buildings, bridges and infrastructure
- Structural strengthening by adding repair mortar
- Increasing concrete cover over reinforcement
- Replacement of contaminated or carbonated concrete
- Hand-applied and machine-applied repair works
Benefits
- Class R4 structural repair mortar
- Fibre reinforced
- Very low shrinkage
- Sulphate resistant
- Suitable for hand and machine application
- Can be applied up to 50 mm thick per layer
- Generally does not require a bonding primer on properly prepared substrates
- A1 fire rating
Application guidance
Prepare the concrete by removing weak, damaged and contaminated material to obtain a sound, clean and roughened substrate. Thoroughly pre-wet the prepared substrate before application and remove excess surface water before placing the repair mortar. Mix with 3.75–4.25 litres of clean water per 25 kg bag using a low-speed mixer below 500 rpm. Mix thoroughly for at least 3 minutes until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Apply manually or mechanically in layers between 6 mm and 50 mm. Press the mortar firmly into the prepared repair area and build up the repair as required. Protect freshly applied mortar from premature drying using an appropriate curing method.
Coverage
Approx. 19 kg/m² per 10 mm thickness. One 25 kg bag yields approximately 13.9 litres of mortar.
