Description
Sikafloor-264 is a two-component coloured epoxy resin used as a roller coating and seal coat for industrial and commercial flooring. It provides a hard-wearing, liquid-proof gloss finish with good chemical and mechanical resistance and is suitable for hot and tropical climatic conditions.
Applications
- Roller coating for concrete and cement screeds
- Storage and assembly halls
- Maintenance workshops
- Garages
- Loading ramps
- Multi-storey and underground car parks
- Maintenance hangars
- Seal coat for broadcast flooring systems
- Wet-process areas
- Beverage and food-industry facilities
Benefits
- Good chemical resistance
- Good mechanical resistance
- Easy application
- Liquid-proof finish
- Gloss finish
- Slip-resistant surface can be achieved
- Suitable for normal to medium-heavy wear
- Suitable for hot and tropical climatic conditions
Application guidance
Concrete and cementitious substrates must be sound, clean, dry and free from contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings, laitance and loose material. Prepare the substrate mechanically to remove cement laitance and achieve an open-textured surface. Repair surface defects and level rough areas before coating. Prime the prepared substrate with a compatible Sikafloor epoxy primer such as Sikafloor-161, ensuring a continuous and pore-free surface. Before mixing, mechanically stir Part A. Add all of Part B to Part A and mix continuously for approximately 3 minutes until a uniform mixture is achieved. Where quartz sand or other specified filler is required, add it after mixing Parts A and B and mix for a further approximately 2 minutes. For roller coating, apply Sikafloor-264 using a short-piled roller, working crosswise. For a seal coat over a broadcast system, apply by squeegee and back-roll crosswise with a short-piled roller. Always verify substrate moisture, relative humidity and dew-point conditions before application.
Coverage
Roller coating: approximately 0.25–0.30 kg/m². Self-smoothing wearing course: approximately 0.9–1.2 kg/m²/mm. Actual consumption depends on substrate porosity, surface profile, level variations, system build-up and site wastage.
