Application guidance
The substrate must be sound, clean and dry, and free from dust, oil, grease, cement laitance, old sealant and poorly bonded coatings. Remove loose and friable material before application. Sikaflex-11 FC can adhere to many substrates without primer, although appropriate Sika primers or pre-treatment may be required for critical or high-performance applications. Install the sealant when the joint is approximately at the mid-range of its anticipated movement. Apply using a suitable sealant gun and tool the joint as required. For bonding applications, apply the product to the prepared substrate and position the component while the adhesive is fresh. Always follow the applicable Sika Product Data Sheet for substrate preparation, primer selection and joint design.
