Description
Sika-1 is a normal-setting liquid waterproofing admixture for mortar and concrete. It blocks capillaries and pores within the cementitious system, helping create an effective barrier against the transmission of liquid water.
Applications
- Waterproofing of renders, masonry mortars and screeds; reinforced and unreinforced concrete; and applications over brick, concrete and stone substrates. Suitable for indoor and outdoor applications including basements, swimming pools, water tanks, tunnels, manholes and culverts.

- Increases the impermeability of mortar and concrete. Ready to use, easily dispersed and chloride-free.
Application guidance
Stir Sika-1 slowly before use. Dilute it in the gauging water and mix thoroughly before adding to the mortar or concrete. The recommended dosage is generally 1 part Sika-1 to 10 parts water, approximately 3% of cement content. With very wet sand, the ratio may need to be increased. Trial mixes should be carried out to establish the appropriate dosage and water requirement.
