Product details & technical information

Description

Sika Waterbar-940 ICJ is a centrally placed PVC-P waterstop designed for internal construction and contraction joints in water-retaining and water-excluding concrete structures. Its plain-web profile incorporates reinforced eyeleted fixing flanges for securing the waterstop to reinforcement and grout-check fins to help prevent grout loss from formwork.

Applications

  • Used for sealing internal construction and contraction joints in cast in-situ concrete structures that retain or exclude water, including water tanks, reservoirs, canals, culverts, dams, sewage treatment plants and other liquid-retaining structures.

Benefits

  • Provides permanent flexibility and a homogeneous waterstop for low to medium levels of hydrostatic water pressure. It is resistant to natural substances found in soil and groundwater, robust for site handling and installation, and suitable for thermal welding to form continuous watertight joint systems.

Application guidance

Position and securely fix the waterstop before concrete placement so that it remains correctly aligned during casting. Use the reinforced eyelets to wire the ICJ profile to the surrounding reinforcement. Maintain adequate clearance between the waterstop and reinforcement to allow proper concrete compaction. Fully compact the concrete around the profile to avoid voids. Site joints are formed by heat welding accurately aligned waterstop ends using suitable welding equipment.

Coverage

15 linear metres per roll, before allowing for welded joints, intersections and project-specific detailing.
