Product details & technical information

Description

Sika Waterbar-940 IEJ is a centrally placed PVC-P waterstop designed for internal expansion joints in water-retaining and water-excluding concrete structures. Its flexible expansion-joint profile accommodates joint movement while maintaining a continuous barrier against water penetration through the concrete joint.

Applications

  • Used for sealing internal expansion and movement joints in cast in-situ concrete structures that retain or exclude water, including water tanks, reservoirs, canals, culverts, dams, sewage treatment plants and other watertight concrete structures.

Benefits

  • Provides a flexible and durable waterstop for expansion joints exposed to low to medium levels of hydrostatic water pressure. It is resistant to natural substances found in soil and groundwater, robust for site handling and installation, and can be heat welded to form continuous watertight joint systems.

Application guidance

Position and securely fix the waterstop before concrete placement so that it remains correctly aligned and centred within the expansion joint. Maintain sufficient clearance from reinforcement to allow proper concrete placement and compaction around the profile. Fully compact the concrete around the waterstop to avoid voids. Site joints must be formed by heat welding accurately aligned waterstop ends using suitable welding equipment and in accordance with Sika installation requirements.

Coverage

15 linear metres per roll, before allowing for welded joints, intersections and project-specific detailing.
