Description
SikaCem-501 Crystalline TZ is a concrete admixture combining integral waterproofing and plasticizing properties. Its waterproofing action results from additional crystallization within the cement matrix together with hydrophobic action on pores and capillaries. Its plasticizing effect reduces mixing water, helping improve concrete strength, workability, compactness and impermeability.
Applications
- Used to produce waterproof concrete for swimming pools, reservoirs, exposed concrete structures and other concrete structures in contact with water.
Benefits
- Provides integral waterproofing through crystalline and hydrophobic action within the concrete. Reduces mixing water by approximately 10–15%, improving mechanical strength, workability, thixotropy and compactness while contributing to better impermeability and frost resistance.
Application guidance
Add SikaCem-501 Crystalline TZ into the mixer at the same time as the cement. The normal mixing time does not need to be changed. The recommended dosage is 1% of the cement weight. In cold weather, the product may slightly extend the setting time.
