Description
SikaShield P24 PE 3 mm is an APP-modified bituminous waterproofing membrane with a thickness of 3 mm. It is reinforced with non-woven polyester fabric and is flexible at 0°C. The upper surface is finished with polyethylene film for bonding to an overlying layer, while the underside has a burn-off film for torch application.
Applications
- Used for waterproofing balconies and terraces beneath heavy protection such as tiles or gravel, flat and sloping roofs beneath protective layers or ballast, car park decks, wet areas, basements and other below-ground structures, reinforced concrete slabs and decks, podiums, protrusions and vertical reinforced concrete walls. It can also be used as a base sheet in multi-layer waterproofing systems.

Application guidance
Apply to a uniform, firm, smooth, clean and dry substrate free from grease, laitance, oil, dust and loose particles. Apply the appropriate Sika primer where required and allow it to dry. Unroll and align the membrane before re-rolling for installation. Provide minimum overlaps of 100 mm at the sides and 150 mm at the ends. Torch the underside and substrate until the backing film begins to melt, then roll the membrane forward and press firmly to achieve full bonding. A continuous bead of melted bitumen should be visible along the overlaps.
Coverage
Nominal roll area: 10 m². Actual installed coverage is lower after allowing for minimum 100 mm side overlaps, 150 mm end overlaps and site wastage.
