Description
Sika Cemflex is an acrylic-based emulsion that improves the water resistance and adhesion of Portland cement-based composites. Mixed with cement and water, it forms an effective waterproofing slurry and can also be used to prepare bonding coats for plaster and render.
Applications
- Waterproofing of reservoirs, shower floors and walls, balconies and verandas beneath tiles, retaining walls and external brick walling. It can also be used to prepare bonding coats for plaster and render.
Benefits
- Watertight, UV stable, non-toxic and oil resistant, with good abrasion resistance. Suitable for submerged and subterranean waterproofing applications and also improves adhesion of cement-based composites.
Application guidance
For waterproofing, mix Sika Cemflex and clean water first, then slowly add Portland cement while mixing until a uniform, lump-free slurry is achieved. Use the waterproofing slurry together with Cemflex Fabric according to the specified system. For bonding applications, prepare the bonding slurry in accordance with the current Sika Product Data Sheet.
Coverage
Waterproofing: approx. 1 m² per litre of Cemflex with membrane. Bonding: approx. 8–10 m² per litre.
