Product details & technical information
Description
SikaTop-501 Seal is a cement-based capillary crystalline waterproofing material for new and existing concrete structures. It forms permanent insoluble crystals within capillary pores and gaps to provide resistance against water penetration from both positive and negative directions.
Applications
- Suitable for interior and exterior waterproofing on vertical and horizontal surfaces, including water tanks, tunnels, elevator pits, retaining and supporting walls, dams and harbour structures.
Benefits
- Provides waterproofing against both positive and negative water pressure by forming permanent insoluble crystals within capillary gaps. It is water-vapour permeable, resistant to freeze-thaw cycles, protects concrete, has a long working time and can be applied by brush.
Application guidance
Apply to a structurally sound, clean and properly prepared substrate that has been pre-wetted to a saturated surface-dry condition. Mix the powder with the recommended quantity of clean water using a 400–600 rpm mixer for 3–5 minutes until homogeneous. Allow to stand for 3–5 minutes, remix for approximately 30 seconds, then apply by brush. Apply two coats, allowing approximately 3–5 hours between coats and no more than 6 hours between layers. Keep the applied material wet for 5–7 days during curing.
Coverage
Approx. 1.0 kg/m² of powder per coat (approx. 1.3 kg/m² mixed material per coat). Apply two coats.
