Mbweni, Dar es Salaam · September 2026
Project overview
Understanding the work.
Nia Build completed waterproofing works to approximately 350 m² of exposed roof slab on a new residential property in Mbweni, Dar es Salaam. The roof had a bare screed finish and required waterproofing to protect the structure against future water ingress and exposure to rainfall. A reinforced Sika Cemflex waterproofing system incorporating Sika Cemflex Membrane was applied across the roof area.
Case study
From the condition on site to the approach taken.
The challenge
The new residential property had approximately 350 m² of exposed roof slab finished with bare screed. The roof required a waterproofing system to protect the structure against rainfall and future water ingress.
Technical approach
The considerations behind the work.
Assessment
The roof was a new exposed screeded slab without an existing waterproofing system. The surface required thorough cleaning and preparation before installation of the waterproofing system.
Technical solution
A reinforced Sika Cemflex waterproofing system incorporating Sika Cemflex Membrane was selected for the approximately 350 m² exposed roof area.
Execution
Nia Build thoroughly cleaned and prepared the roof surface before carrying out the waterproofing works. The Sika Cemflex system was then applied together with Sika Cemflex Membrane across the designated roof area to form the reinforced waterproofing system.
Result
The documented outcome.
Waterproofing was completed across approximately 350 m² of the exposed roof slab, providing the new residential property with a protective waterproofing system against rainfall and water ingress.
