Nia Build completed a 180 m² industrial epoxy flooring application at the Sika Tanzania factory in Dar es Salaam. The designated area was being prepared for the installation of a biomass pellet machine and required a durable, clean and clearly finished industrial floor. The system incorporated Sikafloor-161, Sikadur-504 Filler and Sikafloor-264, with the final coating roller-applied in RAL 1017 yellow.

The challenge
A 180 m² area at the Sika Tanzania factory was designated for the installation of a biomass pellet machine. The existing concrete screed required an appropriate industrial floor finish before the equipment could be installed and put into operation.

Assessment
The existing floor consisted of concrete screed and did not require extensive removal or reconstruction. The primary requirement was thorough cleaning and preparation of the surface before application of the epoxy flooring system.
Technical solution
An epoxy flooring system incorporating Sikafloor-161, Sikadur-504 Filler and Sikafloor-264 was selected for the 180 m² area. The final Sikafloor-264 finish was specified in RAL 1017 yellow.
Execution
The existing concrete screed was thoroughly cleaned and prepared before application of the flooring system. Sikafloor-161, Sikadur-504 Filler and Sikafloor-264 were applied as the specified system, with the final Sikafloor-264 coating roller-applied to achieve a uniform RAL 1017 yellow finish.

The 180 m² area was completed with a uniform RAL 1017 yellow epoxy floor finish, providing a clean and durable industrial surface ready for installation and operation of the biomass pellet machine.
